Every piece melts in your mouth in the most remarkable way, and the flavor is unparalleled. The fish is some of the best I've ever had, and knowing chef Yoshimoto's background from Tsukiji market in Tokyo, it's no surprise. The sake selection is stellar and the wait staff is incredibly knowledgeable, they will find you exactly the right pair for your palette, and you can even sample a few different ones to see what you like best. There's something magical about sitting at the bar and being able to see them work. The aesthetics of the location and the sushi bar itself has a sort of Danish minimalism that is stunning. Chef Yoshimoto is truly a master itamae and it shows in every detail of his work. Courage, perseverance, teamwork, and compassion are demonstrated and Meghan, the Iron Queen, proves to be a brave leader throughout, even in the darkest moments. ![]() Main characters are stabbed, nearly drowned, pecked at by birds and giant bats, burned, bludgeoned, and tortured psychologically when they are forced to fight likenesses of their loved ones. Gore is more plentiful in this finale and includes many beasts having their heads cut off, creatures being disemboweled, and daggers driven deep into a skull or eye socket. There are beasts that spit fire and venom and cause severe emotional distress with their free-flowing tears. Still, there are lots of skirmishes and battles that keep things exciting, all against the nastiest faery creatures imaginable that inhabit a nightmare world. Without this background, the books are less engaging. ![]() This book and the second, The Iron Sword, however, both make many references to the main characters' history and their ties to the Nevernever and the mortal world. The first book in this series, The Iron Raven, was easier to follow without reading the other series.
